Job Summary:
A central Jersey company is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Packaging Supervisor to oversee the packaging operations in our facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all packaging activities meet production schedules, quality standards, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, attention to detail, and knowledge of packaging equipment and GMP practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily packaging operations for tablet and other solid oral dosage forms, ensuring compliance with quality system.
- Troubleshoot packaging line issues and coordinate with maintenance when technical support is needed.
- Lead, train, and develop a team of packaging operators, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor packaging lines to ensure adherence to quality standards, including weight, seal integrity, labeling, and product appearance.
- Monitor warehouse receiving activities to ensure proper handling, documentation, and storage of incoming packaging materials and components.
- Coordinate planning and setup for different product SKUs.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to fulfill activities related to the day-to-day functioning of the team.
- Oversee sanitation procedures and ensure all equipment and work areas are clean and properly maintained.
- Maintain accurate records for batch documentation, production reporting, and inventory usage.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a packaging environment, preferably within the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, medical, or food industry.
- 1 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a production or packaging setting.
- Strong knowledge of packaging machinery, including tablet counters, bottle fillers, labelers, shrink wrappers, and cartoners.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse machinery, including forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and other relevant regulatory guidelines for dietary supplements.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, including Excel and MRP software.
Work Environment Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
- Must be comfortable wearing PPE and following GMP standards.
