Our client is an innovative and fast-growing eCommerce brand looking for an accounting and finance leader to partner with their cross-functional teams and specifically, their CFO. With a commitment to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service, they are rapidly expanding and seeking a candidate with prior start-up experience.

Job Overview:

The Finance & Accounting Manager will oversee the financial management and accounting functions for the company, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone with strong financial acumen, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and working with eCommerce systems and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct variance analysis and prepare detailed reports on financial performance for senior leadership.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts and timely submission of financial reports.

Budgeting:

• Lead the budgeting process, working with department heads to set financial goals and targets.

Accounting & Auditing:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure all documentation is organized and up-to-date.

Cash Flow & Inventory Management:

• Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and efficient use of resources.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to manage inventory levels and ensure that financial implications of inventory decisions are accounted for.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, sales) to provide financial insights that inform decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in accounting or finance; no previous management experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
• Proven experience with eCommerce platforms and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Shopify, etc.) preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial team members.
