We are a global manufacturer of engineered overpressure protection solutions with manufacturing facilities on 4 continents and sales offices in over 16 countries. Our products are used in virtually every industry, from process industries including chemical / petrochemical / refining, power generation, pharmaceutical / biotech, industrial gases, and metals / mining to aerospace / defense, transportation and other OEM markets. Our path to market consists of a global network of manufacturer’s representatives, distributors, and direct sales offices working with factory sales managers with specific responsibilities for product or market / industry in each global region.

About the job

We’re seeking a market sales manager based in the central United States to join our team of market sales managers covering the process markets in North America. The candidate will develop the market and grow the sales of our products into one of our defined industry segments through our sales channel partners (independent representatives and distributors) as well as through direct sales efforts. The industries in this defined market segment include pulp and paper, metals and mining, paints and pigments, industrial gases / gas separation, transportation, pipeline and other midstream applications with a primary focus on the power generation market (nuclear, coal, gas, geothermal, wind, solar, and hydro). The responsibility will be for all of these industries in North America in addition to global responsibility for the power generation market segment. Job duties will include market research and development, technical presentations on products and applications, sales channel partner training and development, overall market development through industry trade organization and trade show participation, development of industry and application specific sales aids, key account development, and strategic partnerships with OEMs and resellers.

This position will report to the North American Sales Manager.

Requirements / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 3 years work experience in a power plant and 5 years technical sales experience working for a manufacturer or a manufacturer’s representative / distributor selling mechanical and or electro-mechanical products.

A Mechanical Engineering degree is highly preferred but equivalent work experience and a high level of mechanical aptitude is an acceptable substitute.

The candidate should reside in the central United States and preferably live near a major international airport. Relocation to Houston TX or Tulsa OK is an option but is not required.

The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in speaking to and training of individuals and groups, strong negotiation and problem solving skills, be comfortable working in a matrix management environment, and be self-motivated with a tireless desire to excel. We need a hunter who is as comfortable preparing and serving the meal as they are tracking and killing the game.

Experience and functional use of CRMs to develop and grow business is required as is regular reporting of sales activities.

Travel - 40 to 60% total with up to 15% of that international
