Accounting Supervisor
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee revenue accounting and general ledger functions. This role will be pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, driving process efficiencies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance financial controls. Reporting to the Controller, this position will play a key role in revenue recognition, audit preparation, and financial analysis while supporting strategic initiatives.
Key Competencies & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in alignment with ASC 606 and company policies.
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.
- Perform variance analysis on financial statements, investigating discrepancies and providing insights.
- Support audit processes, working closely with external auditors to provide documentation and explanations.
Revenue Management & Operational Excellence
- Oversee revenue reporting processes, ensuring proper classification and documentation of transactions.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to resolve revenue-related discrepancies.
- Manage invoicing, billing, and collections processes, optimizing revenue operations.
- Develop and implement internal controls to strengthen financial accuracy and mitigate risks.
Financial Analysis & Strategic Support
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with performance tracking and trend analysis.
- Assist in forecasting and budgeting, focusing on revenue projections and financial planning.
- Drive system improvements and automation efforts, streamlining processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and special projects to support leadership in decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue management.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, ASC 350, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce preferred).
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
