Scope of Work :
The Site Safety Officer will oversee the sites safety and health program.
Responsibilities :
Shall on-site at all times when work is being performed to implement and administer the Contractor's safety program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan.
Ensures compliance with 29 CFR 1926.16 for the project.
Provide oversight for projects under way.
Prepare and enforce the safety program.
Prompt resolution of issues associated with safety.
Leads the workforce in implementing partnering with customers to continuously improve safety.
Conducts briefings and participates in meetings for internal and external stakeholders.
Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein but which are logically and properly inherent to the position, to include business development.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health discipline from an accredited University preferred.
Meet the requirements of EM 385-1-1 Section 1.
Expert understanding of 29 CFR 1926.16 and ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for the project.
Completed OSHA 30-hour construction safety.
5 years’ experience preparing and enforcing safety programs in similar project settings within the past 3 years.
Possess a safety professional certification or equivalent training.
Must maintain licenses and / or credentials required for this position.
Possess strong computer skills to complete data entry into work management system.
Strong skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
Effective verbal and written communication (English) and must be able to read and understand the signs, signals, and operating instructions.
Must be well organized with extremely good time management skills.
Must possess analytical abilities necessary to manage complex administrative, organizational, and contract matters.
Must be able to work independently and interact well with others in a team setting.
Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
All personnel shall be physically and medically qualified for performing the duties to which they are assigned to include lifting objects weighing 60 pounds.
Work may be performed in an outdoor setting with exposure all sorts of inclement weather.
Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.
Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug / alcohol test and a criminal record check.
