What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Confidential - Manufacturing?
SCOPE/SUMMARY:
To provide accounts payable support to the Finance Team with an emphasis on accuracy and ability to prioritize.
The succession path for the successful candidate for this opportunity will be to take on additional responsibilities and training for the newly created Assistant Controller position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Check and approve all invoices for payment.
- Answer all vendor inquiries.
- Develop on-going working relationships with Vendors. Keeping them informed of missing invoices, payment delays, and opening credit terms.
- Must be able to work well with purchasing to gather appropriate documentation for payment.
- Prepare accounts payable checks.
- Prepare accounts payable reports and maintain accounts payable files.
- Prepare analysis of accounts, as required.
- Assist in monthly closings.
- Assist with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
- Create Excel spreadsheets to capture and record data for statistics.
- Prepare verbal and written correspondence internally, as well as with Customers
- Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 4 years previous Accounts Payable experience required.
Must have a thorough knowledge of accrual accounting.
Must have strong experience in creating and maintaining Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and schedules.
Demonstrated organizational skills, follow through and detail-orientation.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task successfully in a deadline-intensive environment.
Ability to learn quickly, self-teach, take initiative with learning proprietary accounting software.
Must be highly organizational and analytical.
Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Salary : $28 - $30
