What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Loader position at Confidential/Manufacturing?
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Loader 1 position is responsible to move and load all finished product. Loader I move finished product from the production floor to the assigned staging area and/or from the staging area to the loading docks. Loader 1 is responsible to accurately load and scan finished product into straight trucks and Line Haul trailers while using the proper loading and strapping techniques. Loader 1, is expected to teach new associates while providing feedback to the Production Manager as requested. He/she will support training, continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts. He/she will also ensure safety on site.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Ensure all finished products are moved and scanned from the production floor to staging areas and/or the staging areas to the loading docks.
· Accurately load straight trucks and Line Haul trailers according to trip sheet, pending lists and pick sheets while ensuring proper visual management tools are being used.
· Accurately complete all load sheets and provide the dispatcher/supervisor with detailed information on missing products after confirming product(s) could not be located.
· Ensure products are properly scanned to straight trucks, Line Haul trailers or staging areas and comply with the manual scanning process when scanners are not working.
· Verify all window & door product match the production tag during the loading process and complete an NCF for all production deficiencies or loading damages.
· Ensure all products are properly secured and strapped for transport in a straight truck, Line Haul trailer or on a product cart.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. problem solving, 5S, Safety audits, etc.).
· Support other departmental functions (staging, loading) as requested by Supervisor.
· Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
2-3 years’ experience in an administration position within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
· Degree / Diploma or equivalent work experience.
· Must be proficient with MS office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate problems, and how solutions will affect others.
· Must be able to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions.
· Forklift License
·Ability to work well with team members at all levels of the organization.
