Restaurant Area Manager
The Area Manager plays an essential role in overseeing operations and driving success across 3-5 restaurant locations. Regional travel is 40-50% of this role. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in the restaurant industry, proven operational expertise, and the ability to lead high-performing teams. The primary focus is on driving sales, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure all locations meet company standards for food quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction. Maintain smooth, efficient operations across all restaurants.
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, coach, and develop General Managers and teams to exceed performance goals. Provide clear direction, foster skill development, and hold team members accountable to high standards.
- Performance Management
- Drive a performance-based culture focused on trust, accountability, and ongoing improvement. Utilize tools and systems to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and address non-performance effectively.
- Quality Assurance
- Uphold strict quality and safety standards, including food safety, inventory management, and compliance with health regulations.
- Training Oversight
- Lead and manage training programs, including onboarding and team certifications, to ensure consistency and excellence across all operations.
- Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to implement growth strategies, new initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Assist with new store openings, marketing efforts, and operational enhancements.
- Communication & Organization
- Maintain clear communication channels with teams and leadership. Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure consistency and follow-through during restaurant visits and operational reviews.
Role Expectations
- Travel: Frequently travel between Western State locations.
- Location Proximity: Must reside within range of assigned restaurants.
- Schedule: 55 hours per week, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Financial Management: Analyze P&Ls, optimize revenue streams, and control costs. Leverage financial data to inform decisions and prioritize time.
- Operational Execution: Seamlessly manage all operational needs, from guest experience to compliance and maintenance. Handle emergencies with expertise and efficiency.
