What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Dispatcher position at Confidential?
This position communicates with drivers, customers, and brokers for the efficient and timely pick-up, delivery, and transport of freight. It includes (among other things) relaying shipment details as arranged with customers and brokers; transmitting accurate information to, and otherwise communicating with, drivers; maintaining contact with drivers throughout their routes to monitor their progress and troubleshoot any problems that may arise along the way; and performing such other duties assigned by a supervisor or manager. Pay is based on relevant experience.
This would be a 2nd shift position with the normal shift being 3:00PM-11:30PM.
Tasks/Responsibilities
Ability to communicate via phone and in person effectively.
Coach and develop a safe and productive fleet of drivers.
Foster relationships with drivers and communicate details effectively.
Ensure that the fleet maintains compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations, company policies and procedures, and insurance guidelines.
Accurately enter driver and trip data in various systems.
Track and monitor drivers for on time pickup and delivery.
Prepare dispatch documents, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
Address minor delivery and pick-up issues raised by drivers, customers, and brokers.
Promptly notify appropriate personnel of potential delays and issues in advance of deadlines.
Proactively identify and communicate potential delays and issues to the customer.
Escalate issues to appropriate managers/supervisors and departments when necessary.
Work closely with other departments (i.e. customer service, safety, shop, etc.) to resolve issues.
Monitor assigned equipment and ensure maintenance is completed as needed.
Experience
Dispatch experience preferred but will train the right candidate.
Strong phone communication skills are required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining accuracy.
Basic computer skills are required.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Other Requirements
Reliable source of transportation to and from work.
Meets applicable guidelines of company’s insurers.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Schedule
Full-Time
Shift of 8 hours, or more.
1st or 2nd shift available. s principles will be beneficial in this role.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
