Somerset County Long term care and rehabiliation facility has been caring for people since 1957, providing top-quality, personalized rehabilitation, to our residents and patients in a homelike setting.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Activities Assistants help to encourage socialization, provide entertainment, relaxation and fulfillment, and improve daily living skills. Must be energetic, positive, and creative.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.
- Observe resident attendance, behavior, and degree of involvement during programs.
- Encourage resident participation as deemed appropriate.
- Assist residents to and from activities as needed.
- Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
- Assist in arranging for transportation for outings.
- Coordinate activities with other departments and staff.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of independent and group activities for the residents.
- Participating and contributing to team discussions regarding resident programming, monthly calendars, activity, and staff scheduling, and resident suggestions.
- Planning, facilitating, and adjusting programs to best meet the needs of the resident's individual function ability level.
- Conducting initial assessment interviews with new residents and rehabilitation patients.
Must be able to work independently, with little supervision.
Must read, write and speak English fluently.
Candidates must have the Flu vaccine.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
