Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements including HIPAA.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Manage the assessment process including MDS (Minimum Data Set) to ensure accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and improve health outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in clinical practices and patient management.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and adherence to medical terminology standards.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy and systems relevant to patient care for effective decision-making.
- Facilitate ongoing training and professional development for nursing staff.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a nursing home or similar healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of hospice care principles and home health services.
- Familiarity with MDS assessments, HIPAA regulations, and medical record management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
