JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper Manager / Onsite Position
REPORTS TO: General Manager STATUS: Part-time or more
Non-Exempt
SUMMARY OF POSITION: The bookkeeper maintains the books and as such handles financial tasks, including preparing bank deposits, verifying business receipts, sending payments, executing payroll, tracking overdue accounts, and managing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, and updating and maintaining accurate financial statements.
The Bookkeepers ensures all business accounts, and the Owner/CEO’s financial records, are current and accurate, using specialized software, spreadsheets and other tools to track and manage data as directed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Work with Owner/CEO and General Manager regularly.
- Manage Owner/CEO’s financials as directed.
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete posting process.
- Verify that all transactions are recorded in ledger.
- Perform all payroll duties
- Post details of all transactions and accounts.
- Reconcile financial and bank statements as required.
- Responsible for deposits, balancing statements, payroll and monthly reports as directed.
- Work off-site with CPA when necessary.
- Responsible for preparing government and IRS forms as needed.
- Establish accounting procedures and schedules that will help the company to run more effectively.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Mature individual able to work in a team environment who is willing to foster a positive environment
- Quickbooks experience preferred
- Prior experience analyzing financial information, possess data entry and general accounting skills, demonstrate attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, demonstrate thoroughness and the ability to work independently. Possess and demonstrate excellent integrity.
- Demonstrates a courteous and professional manner with internal and external partners.
- Agree with and carry out responsibilities in accordance with H/R Employee Handbook.
- Present a history of stable and responsible employment.
- Proficiency in oral and written English communications.
- Detailed, deadline oriented, and comfortable managing multiple tasks.
- Possesses the ability to work effectively with others in a positive, cooperative manner.
- Willingly signs a confidentiality agreement.
- Proficient with Quick Books, MS Office – especially Excel.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL FACTORS: Position entails working in office area as well as throughout the business.
Individual sits, stands, bends, may lift boxes, and moves intermittently during working hours. Interacts with staff, customers, etc., under all conditions/circumstances. May be required to work extended periods of time at a computer requiring repetitive motion. Some light physical effort required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Analytical with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks and bookkeeping tasks preferred.
- Integrity and ethics of the highest degree.
- Relational in all types of business cultures and with fellow team members.
- Organized in time management and in record keeping.
- Problem solver and solution oriented.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bookkeeping; business or accounting experience extremely beneficial.
Proficiency in Quickbooks preferred.
Experience in For-profit fund accounting.
