Building Automation Systems Service Technician
Location : San Diego, CA
We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Building Automation Systems Service Technician to optimize, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced BAS installations. This role emphasizes service work, ensuring that BAS systems operate efficiently to meet energy, comfort, and operational goals. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in BAS maintenance, a solid understanding of HVAC systems, and the ability to resolve both routine and complex technical issues.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Respond promptly to service calls, diagnosing and resolving BAS issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to ensure peak performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and correct deficiencies in BAS software, hardware, and mechanical integrations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs, propose solutions, and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
- Monitor and adjust BAS programs and sequences to maintain energy efficiency and operational standards.
- Implement software updates, programming adjustments, and reconfigurations to address system enhancements or client requirements.
- Identify opportunities for system retrofits, upgrades, or enhancements and provide recommendations to clients.
- Train clients on system operation and best practices to ensure effective use of their BAS.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to create estimates and proposals for additional work or projects.
- Calibrate, commission, and fine-tune system components, including sensors, actuators, and controllers.
- Manage equipment such as VAVs, AHUs, fan coils, chillers, boilers, and lighting controls to ensure proper integration and operation.
- Stay updated on the latest BAS technologies and industry best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Provide feedback to improve service workflows and client experience.
