Category Product specialist
Client seeking product enthusiast who can help grow sales within a category
Some primary responsibilities
- Continuously develop knowledge of product lines and market trends to become a company specialist in category.
- Engage is buying and selling of lines with established and new suppliers.
- Develop and monitor plans for the elimination of stale / discontinued inventory.
- Support as needed with support inside / outside sales teams with quotes and orders.
- Lead training sessions for inside/outside sales teams.
- Provide input and suggestions on new products, procedures and systems.
- Maintain and update current price bands while reviewing for product price changes.
- Attend 2-3 trade shows and events to stay on top of industry practices and products as needed.
Buying / Sourcing
- Negotiate with vendors for products while considering price, quality and availability.
- Source new products and assist with new product launches.
- Control inventory through inputting and tracking of purchase orders and monitoring deliveries.
- Source new products and assist with new product launches.
- Source, manufacture or buy all accessory products.
