About the Role
The Company is seeking an Interim Department Chair for its Social Work and Sociology Department. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and inclusive leader with a visionary approach to education and research. Responsibilities for this 12-month tenure-track position include providing strategic and budgetary oversight, fostering faculty and student development, managing curricula, and ensuring the department's accreditation and external partnerships. The Chairperson will also be expected to engage in research, publish in academic journals, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The role demands a leader who can implement strategies to enhance research infrastructure, teaching-learning environments, and community engagement.Applicants must hold a Master of Social Work from an accredited program and a DSW, or Ph.D. in social work, or a Ph.D. in a closely related discipline. A minimum of 5 years' academic administrative experience and a strong record of research and professional accomplishments in social work and / or sociology are required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scholarly achievement and experience in fundraising.
