Duties
- Plan and prepare a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Oversee kitchen operations, including managing kitchen staff and coordinating food service during events such as banquets and catering functions.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food handling, and safety practices.
- Assist in managing kitchen budgets, controlling costs while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant or catering environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling practices, and food safety regulations.
- Experience in restaurant management is a plus, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Familiarity with banquet service and large-scale food preparation is highly desirable.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
