About the Role:
Commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee a Multi-million-dollar hospital project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction and healthcare projects, with expertise in managing multiple trades in a hospital setting. This role requires hands-on leadership, the ability to problem-solve in real-time, and a commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards in an active healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or healthcare construction required. Bachelor’s degree in construction management is a PLUS.
- Strong knowledge of hospital construction standards, infection control, and life safety codes is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Proficient in scheduling software and construction management tools and in Microsoft.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification PLUS (or willingness to obtain).
Key Responsibilities:
- In this role, you will be responsible to Lead by example – Work alongside the crew and Oversee daily job site operations, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met.
- Perform hands-on work in demo, framing, drywall, and general carpentry as needed.
- Coordinate and manage multiple trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural, Carpentry etc.), ensuring quality work.
- Enforce OSHA and hospital-specific safety regulations, ensuring a safe worksite.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and hospital representatives to deliver successful projects.
- Collaborate and develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules to ensure timely completion of all phases
- Monitor project progress, adjust plans as needed, and maintain open communication with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities
- Review and ensure compliance with the contract documents
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality standards and resolve issues proactively.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and progress updates.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standard
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and hospital construction requirements.
- Maintain a daily job site log and preside over weekly subcontractor meetings
