What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Confidential?
As Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting department, including JE’s, closing and reporting. You will play a critical role in providing accurate financial information to support strategic decision-making, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining the financial health of the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities, such as accounting, cash and credit management, and auditing.
- Analyze financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
- Conduct or coordinate periodic internal audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes.
- Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, reports required by senior management and/or regulatory agencies.
- Supervisor employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and payables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 8 years’ experience in accounting in a manufacturing/production environment
- Proven mastery of accounting principles, practices, standards, US GAAP, laws, and regulations
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgment, common sense, and resourcefulness
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
