Controller
A well-established and growing manufacturing business located in Northern Kentucky (proximity to the Cincinnati/NKY airport) is seeking an experienced Controller to join our Executive Management team.
Reporting to the President and CFO, the job holder is responsible for the entire range of financial activities for the company, including both the treasury and accounting functions. Formulates and recommends policy on banking, internal controls, receipt and disbursement of funds, extension of credit, fiscal and accounting matters. Responsible for development of standard accounting, analysis, and reporting procedures, and for exercise of overall financial control. All to be managed to the standards required for the business to meet its goals and objectives and leading a high-performing accounting team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of accounting experience. Prior experience in the manufacturing field is preferred.

Major Responsibilities / Duties:
· Financial – Responsible for all accounting-related activities including high-level accounting, managerial counting, and financial activities. Responsible for preparation of financial reports as directed by management and prepared according to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
· Budgets – Responsible for the collation and preparation of the fixed and variable cost elements of the Budget and Forecasts, monitoring monthly performance and performing quarterly updates. Responsible for the preparation of pro forma financial reports.
· Internal Controls – Responsible for providing reasonable assurance that the company’s resources are protected against waste, fraud, and inefficiency, ensure accuracy and reliability in accounting and operating data, secure compliance with the policies of the organization, legal and governmental authorities, and ensure all areas conform to objectives.
· Trading - Responsible for functions necessary to ensure the continuation of day-to-day business, including custom bonds, powers of attorney, etc.
· Supervisory – supervise and manage the accounting department which includes several direct reports.
· Community – Maintain good relationships with local government bodies, federal authorities, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
General Duties:
· Comply with all company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
· Report all defective equipment and unsafe working practices to management.
· Maintain working areas to high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
· Maintain effective internal working relationships.
· Assist with other assignments and in other business areas as required by management.
· Complete and support special projects as assigned.
· Provide internal training related to accounting applications.
· Revisit and develop goals (subject to managers’ approval) annually.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
· Requires a bachelor’s degree in a suitable Business or Finance major preferred or equivalent.
· Demonstrated skills in accounting/finance work highly desirable; eight to ten (8 - 10) years or more related experience.
· General knowledge of accounting.
· Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
· Ability to draft professional routine reports and correspondence.
· Must also have good problem-solving capabilities and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations:
· No special licenses required.
Computer Skills:
· Proficiency in use of personal computers and Microsoft Office® applications needed.
· Other computer skills required for logging into the company system(s); recording transactions in the ERP system and/or other company systems; sending and receiving e-mails. The Company will train on specific computer/software skill requirements.
· Microsoft Dynamics 365 working experience a real PLUS!
Travel:
~15%
Other Requirements:
· Highly independent role requires self-motivation and accountability for self and high-performing team.
· Expectations are 40-50 hours work per week, occasionally increased hours for peak and project work.
· This is an on-site role, requiring direct interaction with colleagues.
· Travel by airline, if needed.
· Readily obtain a passport for international travel.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; talk; and hear. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May involve occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds). Specific vision abilities which are preferred for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas which could require the use of personal protective equipment and the ability to tolerate noise levels up to the maximum allowed by OSHA.
