Customs Entry Writer
The role involves preparation of Customs documentation to ensure that any shipments; imported and exported have complete paperwork needed.
Responsibilities
- Reviews import and export documents
- Accurate and timely ISF entry submissions
- Accurate and timely entry processing through US Customs and participating government agencies
- Prepares paperwork for clearance
- Liaise with officials in various governmental agencies to ensure goods are cleared through customs or quarantine.
- Coordinate customs release, freight release, and final delivery schedules
- Communicate with customers both internal and external of shipment status
Qualifications
- 7 to10 years of Customs Brokerage experience
- Be fully conversant with import laws and regulations and keep up to date with changes as they occur, to be able to advise customers on import restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements and all other Customs related matters.
- Experienced in PGAs and knowledge of HTS Customs Regulations.
- Good written and verbal communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills; courteous; organized and able to prioritize tasks
- Displays a flexible and open-minded willingness to adapt to new environments and be a team player.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
