The Demands Writer must deeply understand each case and understand how to review medical records, billing, and Economist and Expert Witness reports. The Demands Writer must posses persuasive writing skills and be able to express and summarize the facts, identify and address key issues, create liability arguments, explain medical and other injuries, and be able to articulate, with detail, how the injuries have affected the injured our client, the Plaintiff.
Knowledge of Life Care Plans, surgeries and medical treatments, spinal cord stimulators, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), life care plans, and economist reports will be needed to succeed in this role.
Prior experience drafting personal injury demands is required. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research skills, be detail-oriented, and keep organized the facts, files, reports, and records for each case.
Qualifications
- Must have a JD.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Must know how to prioritize and get things done.
- Must be proactive and decisive.
- Must be able to discern when to seek partner input.
- Must be comfortable doing Westlaw legal research.
- Must be familiar with premise liability, personal injury law, and Workers' Compensation.
- Must follow through and be reliable.
- Must be able to rapidly respond to time-sensitive work.
- Must be organized.
- The ideal candidate will know how to develop and maintain strong relationships with firm partners, administrative staff, and vendors.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience writing demands letters with a personal injury law firm.
