Duties
- Prepare and submit accurate medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
- Review patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is included for billing purposes.
- Utilize knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and answer any inquiries related to billing issues.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in medical billing software and systems.
- , E-Claims, Dexis.
- Proficiency in dental insurance portals.
- Proficiency in Pre- Authorization, Rejections, Medical Coding, Military Classifications.
- Proficiency in Dental Provider Credentialing.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and documentation requirements.
- Experience with medical collections processes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG coding systems, and other relevant coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus.
