Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Director of Operations to lead and optimize our CNC machine shop. This executive role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in lean manufacturing, production planning, Kaizen, and operational efficiency. The Director of Operations will be responsible for ensuring on-time delivery, cost control, and operational excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies to drive efficiency, improve on-time delivery, and enhance overall production performance.
- Production Planning & Execution: Oversee scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow optimization to maximize throughput and reduce lead times.
- Lean Manufacturing & Kaizen: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, eliminating waste and enhancing productivity through lean principles and Kaizen methodologies.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor and refine key performance metrics, including quality, efficiency, cost, and delivery to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and executive leadership to align production objectives with business goals.
- Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.), and workplace safety requirements.
- Technology & Process Improvement: Drive advancements in CNC machining technologies, automation, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on CNC machining and precision manufacturing in aerospace, defense, or semiconductor industries.
- Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in a high-mix, low-volume production environment.
- Ability to drive on-time delivery, cost control, and operational efficiencies in a fast-paced setting.
- Deep understanding of supply chain management, ERP/MRP systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning abilities.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR compliance, and other industry regulations.
