POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly organized EHS and Facilities Manager to oversee Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Facilities Management, and several key manufacturing shared service processes within our aerospace composites manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring best-in-class EHS and 5S practices are sustainably in place across the entire facility, while also acting as the key focal point for all regulatory, compliance, emergency services and other related entities.. This role will work closely with various departments across the facility to support production objectives while maintaining a highly organized, clean, safe and effective working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Leadership for the entire Site, including being a driving force behind the full adoption of best-in-class 6S practices that are integrated into the Departmental and Site GEMBA processes. This practice includes office, administrative, material handling, transportation and shop floor activities and shall include initiatives to foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness, promoting employee engagement and participation.
· Lead the Site HSE Committee to drive timely closure of all HSE actions by working with the Site leadership team to develop and deploy systemic solutions to HSE issues.
· Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EH&S programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific standards.
· Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
· Oversee the development and delivery of EH&S training programs for employees, ensuring proper understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
· Investigate incidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
· Maintain and update emergency response procedures, coordinating regular drills and training sessions to ensure readiness.
· Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate EH&S considerations into facility projects, equipment installations, and process changes.
· Monitor and manage environmental compliance, including waste management, air emissions, and hazardous material handling, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and permits.
· Maintain detailed records and reports of EH&S activities, including compliance documentation, training records, and incident reports.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, representing the company during inspections, audits, and other interactions.
· Develop and manage budgets for shared services, optimizing costs while maintaining high levels of efficiency and service quality.
· Lead initiatives to foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness, promoting employee engagement and participation in EH&S programs.
· Audit internal programs to determine the effectiveness and progress to best-in-class standards.
· Ensure a process and resources are in place with metrics to conduct routine inspections for permits, regulatory requirements, environmental compliance and industrial safety standards such as emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, hoists, ventilation, eyewash stations, PPE availability and all other HSE related activities at each location as necessary to maintain best-in-class HSE procedures.
· Ensure compliance to permit, consistent reporting, cost analysis scheduling and manifesting of any hazardous waste shipments.
· Ensure a process and resources are in place to continuously update the SDS library at each facility based on changes in work mix.
· Participate in implementation and execution of training of employees to ensure skills and capabilities match the needs of the business.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven experience in EH&S management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace or composites industry.
· Comprehensive knowledge of EH&S regulations, standards, and best practices, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
· Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
· Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels in EH&S initiatives.
· Proficiency in developing and delivering EH&S training programs.
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM, CIH) are highly desirable.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk mitigation and program improvement.
· Strong 6S, organizational and project management skills.
· Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
· Experience with facility management software.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 10 years in a similar role.
· Project management experience preferred.
