Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager with a background in fabrication and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an engineering leadership role, with a strong emphasis on creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on involvement in full machine setup designs. You will work closely with customers nationwide to understand their needs, develop comprehensive machine designs, and oversee the full cycle of prototyping and manufacturing.
In this leadership role, you will lead a team of engineers, mentor staff, and foster an environment of collaboration and innovation. Your ability to balance leadership responsibilities with technical expertise in SolidWorks and software programming will be crucial to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Collaboration:
- Manage and lead a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical support.
- Foster a collaborative, positive work environment with a focus on servant leadership and hands-on involvement.
- Train and develop engineers, ensuring continuous growth and improvement.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and customers.
Design & Development:
- Design full machine setups and customized fabrication solutions for clients.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create accurate, detailed, and functional designs.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects, including design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
Customer Engagement
- Collaborate with customers nationwide to understand their requirements and translate them into design specifications.
- Provide support and expertise during the design and manufacturing process, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Attend trade shows and client visits, providing technical expertise and project updates.
Project Management:
- Oversee project timelines and resources, ensuring efficient execution from design through final delivery.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all components of the project are on track.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical challenges that arise during the design and production stages.
Key Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Design, or a related field) is required
Experience:
- Minimum 2-4 years of engineering leadership experience, preferably in a fabrication and manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in designing and developing machines and systems from concept to completion.
- SolidWorks proficiency is required for creating 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Software programming experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the full cycle of design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proven experience working closely with customers to provide tailored solutions.
