Job Description:
The Enterprise Architect is a meticulous professional responsible for aligning technical investments with business priorities and leading the overall Enterprise Architecture strategy for the business. The successful candidate will be a design expert who is delivery oriented and understands how large multi-national and global corporate structures can leverage technology to achieve the best in class market positioning. The candidate should have grown up through the technology ranks and should have participated in technology service life cycles starting from requirements analysis through design, development, operations and strategy. The candidate should be an excellent communicator who has the necessary soft-skills to interact with non-technical stakeholders in a global corporation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Demonstrate expertise in process/application/data/infrastructure/security realms
• Take into account existing IT assets, reference architecture, and standards in solution design
• Understand the state of the industry and leading solutions & best practices to common problems
• Collaborate with Business Strategic Demand Managers in leading internal enterprise technology solutions
• Collaborate with the extended architecture organization to design and develop cross-functional enterprise level conceptual designs and architecture design descriptions
• Establish a roadmap to analyze and determine root causes for systems failure across business/process/technology domains
• Collaborate with Lead Technical Domain architects (applications, data, infrastructure, and security) to define and publish technology standards, reference architectures, current state and future state architectures
• Chair Design Assurance Reviews of projects
• Participate as lead solution architect for projects as required
• Involved in the beginning of the project from concept, through planning and design and may remain involved in a project in development and deployment
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with an excellent work ethic. The professional background should demonstrate a steady pace of growing responsibility in technical domains. Candidate must be organized, analytical, and adept at working in a team environment. Additional preferred qualifications:
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Ability to understand the business requirements and convert them into solution designs
• Knowledge in web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints
• Should have hands-on expertise in some of the following technologies: SAP, Workday, workflows, integration/EAI/ESB technologies, software development, APIs, database technologies, infrastructure, information security
• Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering software that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities
• TOGAF or other architecture framework certification or familiarity
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience
• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or 5 years of experience in IT-related discipline
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in designing enterprise quality solutions for global/multi-national organizations
