Job Title: Estimator
Position Description
The purpose of this job is to be responsible for supporting the Sales and Quality Management system by assisting our Sales, Quality, and Administrative team with daily tasks relating to documentation, document control, quotations, and communication.
Core Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
· Product sourcing and quoting
· Basic accounting duties
· Order entry
· Take customer phone calls
· Interact with distributors, warehouse associates, and clients
· Provide general administrative support as needed
· Create and Maintain Various Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
· Compile data for management review meetings as required by ISO 9001:2015 standards
· Ensure proper documentation requirements are being met
· Perform material take offs, quotation workups, and quotes for review
· Assist in bridging the gap between sales, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing shops by completing job information sheets and communicating daily
· Provide documentation assistance for Change orders, customer change requests, and other sales related categories
· Updates managers by consolidating, analyzing, and forwarding daily action summaries
· Reviews requests for proposals to identify and lead the proposal team in developing pricing strategies
· Performs all aspects of pricing on a full range of projects
· Works with sales to determine anticipated direct costs (labor, material requirements, equipment costs, Other Direct Costs), and indirect rates and prepares the price proposal in accordance with the price strategy and the RFP;
· Develops cost/price models and the price narrative in accordance with the requirements of the RFP
· Ensure proposal compliance with corporate policy
· Develop and implement new and innovative pricing models as well as review and improve current models
· Develop training material for Pricing department
· Ensure all required price proposal milestones are achieved
· Ensure all agreeable cost/price review comments, observations, and recommendations are addressed in each opportunity specific price proposal, including the price narrative
· Ensure all price strategies are captured in the price proposal backup documentation
· Coordinates with all teaming partners for their pricing input, when applicable
· Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience
· Associate Degree
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc...)
· Good communication skills
· Ability to work in a deadline – driven, project-based environment, where the schedule can be unpredictable
· High attention to detail and ability to ensure high quality work
· Self-motivated
· Planning / Organizing skills
· Problem solving skills
Preferred Skills
· Experience with ISO 9001:2015 Standard
· Accounting
· Ability to read blueprints
· AutoCAD
· Basic Mechanical/Hydraulic/and Electrical knowledge
