FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN – NATURAL GAS

Summary: This is an 8 & 6 rotational Field Service Technician position based in South Texas with every other weekend off. We are specifically seeking candidates who live in the Cotulla, Dilley, or Pearsall area.
Note: We have other jobs you can help with on the 6 days you’re not working at the primary customer’s sites.
Role Description: Field service technicians will overhaul, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain natural gas compressors and engines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled tasks, including all levels of maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on a wide variety of natural gas engines and compressors.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose all levels of compressor system failures and optimize compression equipment performance.
- Comply with all company and customer policies and procedures.
- Complete appropriate paperwork as directed.
- Continually hone and develop skills in line with technological advances in the industry.
- Work effectively in a team environment as a contributing team member and be capable of working independently when required.
- Present a professional image at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in compressor and engine maintenance.
- Possess basic knowledge of surface production equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for general electronic and mechanical control issues.
- Capable of operating all types of diagnostic tools and must have a full set of hand tools as defined by company standards.
- Willing to travel for short and extended periods.
- Available to work different shifts and take call-outs as needed.
- Excellent customer relation skills.
- Willing to attend training classes and/or seminars as required.
- General computer skills, with the ability to utilize computers as diagnostic tools.
- Must reside in the Cotulla, Dilley, or Pearsall area.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Formal vocational training is preferred.
- MUST HAVE: 3 to 5 years of engine and compressor maintenance experience.
- Experience with Caterpillar and Waukesha engines preferred.
- Experience with Ariel, GE, and other gas compressors is a plus.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- CAT Training certification preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to lift heavy objects.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in both hot and cold environments for reasonable lengths of time.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
