Our client, a reputable organization in the mechanical and industrial engineering industry, is seeking a Fire Protection Design Engineer to join their team in Harrison, OH . This role involves designing special hazard fire suppression and fire alarm systems to ensure life safety and asset protection. Candidates may qualify for either a senior-level or junior-level position depending on their experience.

Key Responsibilities :
Design fire protection systems using AutoCAD and proprietary software, adhering to local, national, and manufacturer requirements.
Direct contractors to ensure proper installation and operation of fire suppression and alarm systems.
Conduct job site surveys to confirm accurate system design and installation.
Review, interpret, and implement project specifications provided by customers.
Attend manufacturer training sessions and other continuing education opportunities.
Create project-specific operation and maintenance manuals.
Update existing system drawings as needed.
Collaborate with office staff on engineering-related process improvements.
Assist with system inspection, maintenance, startups, and commissioning, as required.
Qualifications :
Previous experience in the fire protection industry is required.
Proven experience as a design engineer, preferably in fire protection.
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting and knowledge of 3D design software.
Strong understanding of MS Office applications.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly.
A strong desire to learn industry standards and practices.
Willingness to study for and obtain NICET certification .
