About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel to join their team. The General Counsel will be responsible for developing and implementing legal and compliance strategies to support business objectives and mitigate risks. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing contract negotiations, and managing legal and compliance teams. The role demands a trusted business partner who can provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of issues, from corporate governance to risk management. Key responsibilities for the General Counsel at the company include serving as the legal advisor to the CEO and Executive team, overseeing regulatory compliance, and proactively managing legal risks.
The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a minimum of 15 years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in a senior legal role with leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consumer protection laws and regulations, with experience in the home warranty or insurance industry being strongly preferred. They should be a proven leader with exceptional communication skills, capable of building and nurturing collaborative teams. The role requires a strategic thinker, a problem-solver, and a results-driven leader with a high level of integrity and a commitment to fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability. A Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited law school are required, along with eligibility for Florida Bar admission.
