Job description-General Sales Manager
Position Summary:
Established domestic dealership is looking for an experienced Automotive General Sales Manager.
Candidates must have a proven track record overseeing one or multiple stores. Our new hire will be responsible for achieving maximum profitability of the sales department while focusing on customer retention. To achieve this, they must effectively manage sales personnel, as well as having a strong knowledge of the market and an in-depth understanding of the sales department's financial data.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Hires, trains, and motivates all dealership sales department managers.
- Directs and monitors all dealership management or supervisory personnel functions and completes formal performance evaluations of all department managers at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Plans dealership operations for the coming year and submits to the dealer for approval.
- Meets with the controller / office manager monthly to review departmental forecasts for consistency with the annual forecast.
- Meets with managers individually to develop monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance.
- Develops and maintains a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel.
- Communicates management policies and procedures to all employees and ensures that they are understood and followed.
- Provides enthusiastic leadership to help shape employees' attitudes and build morale.
- Holds regularly scheduled managers’ meetings to ensure that every department is operating efficiently and profitably.
- Develops merchandising strategies and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures set out by the company, while making sure all employees do the same.
- Motivating employees, planning events and promotions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Required Requirements:
- 5 plus years Automotive General Sales Management experience
- 5 Plus Years Fixed Ops Experience
- Must have strong communication skills to deal with customers, employees, and vendors
- Must have excellent knowledge of F&I
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must be authorized to work in the USA
