GENERAL MANAGER
Overview:
Are you ready to lead a dynamic team and take the reins of a fast-paced hotel environment? As the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall success of the hotel. Your mission: ensure exceptional guest experiences, drive revenue growth, and lead a motivated team to success. You’ll be making key decisions around budgets, marketing strategies, and business goals while overseeing all hotel departments.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Plan & Lead: Develop annual budgets, cash flow, and sales/marketing plans to forecast and hit revenue targets.
- Drive Revenue: Analyze financial performance and use innovative tech platforms and distribution channels to boost profits and market share.
- Collaborate: Work closely with owners on capital plans and asset management to maintain the hotel’s leadership position.
- Team Success: Create programs that improve team engagement and align with our brand’s service standards. You’ll also help shape the future of the hotel by managing succession planning and supporting career growth for your team.
- Mentorship: Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development.
- Staffing Decisions: Handle salary, disciplinary, and staffing-related actions while following company policies.
- Customer Focused: Focus on guest satisfaction, acting on feedback to enhance the overall experience and resolve any concerns quickly.
- Stay Safe & Compliant: Ensure the safety and security of guests and staff, and uphold all regulations and company standards.
- Brand Representation: Serve as the public face of the hotel, building relationships within the local community and increasing brand awareness.
- Sustainability: Lead initiatives that reduce the hotel's environmental footprint and promote sustainability practices.
- Stay On Top of Operations: Inspect services and property to meet legal and health standards.
Skills & Experience We're Looking For:
- Leadership & Decision-Making: Strong leadership abilities and a knack for making decisions that drive results.
- Time Management Pro: Ability to juggle multiple tasks and stay organized in a busy environment.
- Hotel Industry Experience: At least three years in a management role, preferably in a Hilton or IHG property (but we’re open to other great backgrounds too).
- Educational Background: A qualification in hotel management, business, marketing, or a related field is ideal.
- People Skills: A friendly, professional demeanor with the ability to engage with people from all walks of life, whether it's guests, staff, or vendors.
- Multi-Skilled: Comfortable handling administrative, financial, marketing, and operations management. Plus, some basic maintenance skills wouldn’t hurt!
