The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all housekeeping activities within the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for guests, residents, or staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage housekeeping staff effectively. The Housekeeping Manager will also ensure that all housekeeping standards and regulations are followed, while continuously improving the quality of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and train housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeepers, and other team members.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient department operations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
Quality Control:
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and quality standards are met.
- Monitor the condition of hotel or facility furnishings, linen, and equipment and report any issues for maintenance.
- Handle guest feedback regarding cleanliness and resolve any complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Health and Safety Standards:
- Ensure that all housekeeping procedures comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor staff use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal to meet safety standards.
- Enforce environmental sustainability practices where applicable.
Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions for new hires and existing team members on housekeeping standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest housekeeping trends, tools, and techniques.
Guest Satisfaction:
- Ensure that all guest rooms are serviced in a timely manner and meet cleanliness and comfort expectations.
- Respond to guest requests or concerns with a focus on ensuring a positive guest experience.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead a team, motivate employees, and resolve conflicts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or other relevant software.
