Iron Worker - Full Job Description
Installs replace and maintain ironwork on structural steel buildings, miscellaneous railings, guardrails, metal doors, metal fencing, gates, ladders.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Able to read erection or shop drawings.
· Place rigging on iron members to hoist up into erection location.
· Sets up framework of building by positioning steel girders or other structural elements and then bolting them into place or preparing them for permanent bolting and/or welding.
· Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members.
· Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman/supervisor as needed.
· Properly prepare materials before welding; erects rigging and scaffolding.
· Field installation/connecting of columns, beams, stairs, handrails and decking.
· Fitting and Welding (Field) of structural steel.
Minium Qualification:
· Must have strong math skills.
· Ability to use precision and power tools as related to the field/industry.
· Welding experience a plus.
· High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Pay: Based on relevant experience:
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Based on sunrise, construction industry).
- Must pass a drug test.
Work setting:
- In the field.
Ability to Commute:
- Pittsburgh Area: (Field based work, need to be willing to travel locally).
