Position Overview:
We are seeking a top-tier Legal Assistant to join our team and support our attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, value punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability effectively communicate with their supervising attorney and clients. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on a wide range of legal matters and to contribute to the success of our firm.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys with all aspects of case preparation, including drafting and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
2. Conduct legal research using various resources to support case preparation and strategy.
3. Manage and organize case files, including electronic filing, document management, and maintenance of case calendars and deadlines.
4. Coordinate communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional and timely manner.
5. Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, and organizing trial binders.
6. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards in handling client matters.
7. Provide administrative support to attorneys, such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling incoming calls and emails.
8. Collaborate with other office personnel and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and client service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a related field.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working as a legal assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with legal procedures and terminology.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and client service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent training.
- Familiarity with e-discovery processes and document management systems.
