About the Role:
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager - Bakery Machinery to lead the maintenance operations at our high-capacity bakery facility in Haverhill, MA, which supports product distribution for up to 1,000 Dunkin’ Donuts locations. In this role, you'll oversee the health and performance of all production equipment and utility systems to ensure continuous, efficient, and food-safe operations. You’ll lead a team of maintenance technicians and collaborate across departments to drive uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and support capital improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of mechanical and electrical maintenance technicians.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all bakery machinery including mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, dividers, and packaging equipment.
- Develop, execute, and continuously improve a robust preventive and predictive maintenance program.
- Ensure rapid response and resolution of equipment breakdowns to minimize production disruption.
- Partner with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve reliability, safety, and performance of equipment.
- Maintain and optimize the CMMS to track work orders, maintenance history, and asset performance.
- Manage spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and contractor services.
- Enforce all food safety, sanitation, OSHA, and equipment safety protocols in line with GMP and SQF standards.
- Participate in capital projects related to new equipment, upgrades, or layout changes.
- Develop and monitor KPIs related to equipment downtime, work order completion, and maintenance costs.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Bring:
- 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance leadership, preferably in a food manufacturing or commercial bakery environment.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and bakery production equipment.
- Experience with CMMS platforms and maintenance planning.
- Strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills in fast-paced production environments.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF) and equipment sanitation protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Technical degree or certifications in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or related fields.
- Familiarity with controls/automation systems (working knowledge of PLCs is a plus).
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
