Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist healthcare professionals in providing quality patient care in a medical setting. The position is Full-Time and requires working in both of our locations. We are also looking for a 3 to 4 day/week Medical Assistant/Receptionist, who can easily move from back office duties to front office duties.
CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY.
Responsibilities
- Assisting patients to exam rooms, verifying medications and any new concerns
- Preparing and assisting in minor procedures and examinations with Providers
- Applying plaster and fiber glass casts as well as removal of fiber glass casting
- Wound Care, Ointment application and bandaging
- Autoclaving
- Chart prepping
- Prior authorizations for diagnostic imaging
- Sending in patient prescriptions
- Diabetic nail care
- Dispensing our practice's over the counter orthotics and CAM boots
- Suture removal
- Sorting and storing supplies. Restocking of exam rooms.
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean exam rooms, setting up equipment and instruments, properly cleaning and autoclaving instruments used daily.
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience using eClinical Works
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 hours. Overtime as needed.

- BLS Certification (Preferred)
