Optician

Experienced Optician/ Optical Sales Associate needed for busy private optometry practice. We are an established practice looking for someone who wants to build a career with us in this rewarding field. The desired applicant must have experience working in an optical and familiarity with vision plans. High school diploma, outgoing personality, team player, attention to detail, great work ethic, and a desire to learn required.

Primary job responsibilities include:

-Eyeglass sales with an emphasis on educating patients on the best lens designs and treatments to fit their needs
-Accurately explaining benefits to patients with vision insurance and discount plans
-Placing lab orders for eyewear and filing claims with contracted insurance labs
-Keeping patients informed on the progress of their eyeglass orders
-Using a lensometer to check for prescription accuracy and inspecting glasses for aesthetic quality
-Confidently troubleshooting any eyewear concerns patients may have
- Dispensing, adjusting and repairing eyewear
Other responsibilities may include some appointment scheduling, general office work, and some patient care. Pay is commensurate with experience.
