Process Scientist – Malvern, PA
Position Summary:
The Process Scientist will be responsible for executing and developing synthetic routes to small molecule targets, with a focus on ensuring the safe and efficient scale-up of processes. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams, including analytical chemists, operations, and quality assurance, to support the successful completion of campaigns and product release. The Process Scientist will also be expected to evaluate process parameters and operational space, assess safety using calorimetry and stability data, and solve complex synthetic challenges under the guidance of senior scientists and project leaders.
Responsibilities:
Execute experiments to evaluate and develop synthetic routes to small molecule targets.
Work to determine operational space for various process parameters to ensure efficient and successful scale up.
Evaluate safety of processes utilizing calorimetry data and stability data to fully understand the hazards and the trigger points of these hazards.
Follow guidance from project leader or senior scientists to problem solve complex synthetic problems during development.
Execute scale up of processes in the kilo labs in a GMP environment.
Support scale up of processes in the pilot plant in a GMP environment.
Collaborate with analytical chemists, operations staff, and QA to ensure successful completion of campaigns and release of raw materials, intermediates, and final products.
Accurately collect reliable data in the form of lab procedures or reports to be used for updates to customers or during drafting of production’s MBR.
Qualifications:
MS, or PhD (Organic Chemistry).
2 years of relevant experience in API manufacturing companies required.
Knowledge of analytical equipment/instruments such as HPLC, GC, DSC, TGA, KF, NMR, LCMS, and GCMS required.
Familiarity with GMP regulations preferred.
Excellent organizational and communication skills required.
