Purpose:
Working in conjunction with the Production Supervisor, the Production Operations Lead effectively assists in all production functions and personnel related to the operation of the production facility. Primary responsibilities include production schedule adherence, personnel management, maintaining quality assurance standards, and keeping the team safe. Partnering with other plant staff members and being committed to delivering the best possible experience to our customers and employees in support of our mission, vision and values. This position will report to the Supervisor.
This position is located in Northeastern North Carolina area.
Prerequisites:
- GMP Training (New hire and Annual)
- Glove Policy
- SOP’s for all quality assurance functions
- General knowledge of Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures for all quality assurance areas and pieces of production equipment
- Plant Inspection Program and Pre-operational Inspection Program
- Allergen Control Program
- Warehouse Programs (Shipping, Receiving, and Storage)
- Rework Program
- Knowledge of HACCP and SQF
- Basic Computer Skills
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with Production Supervisors to address any issues, concerns, carry-overs, and priorities.
- Address any call-outs or staffing issues.
- Oversee shift start-up, which includes carry-overs.
- Communicate with forklift drivers regarding the materials and supplies the operators need for the entire shift.
- Ensure employees report to correct positions and adjust based on production needs.
- Monitor employee’s breaks and lunch to ensure employees report back to work in a timely manner. Report to Production Supervisor any violations.
- Monitor employee’s attendance, punctuality, and tardiness. Report to Production Supervisor any violations.
- Monitor packing machine settings and address packers who may be underperforming. Communicate any findings or concerns to the Production Supervisor.
- Report any personnel issues to the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure all equipment is in satisfactory start-up or shut-down condition for incoming shift.
- Complete production sheets and ensure all shifts are together for scheduler.
- In the event the Production Supervisor is out the Production Lead can step in and perform job duties of respective area.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold storage areas.
Work Environment:
- The role is primarily based in a warehouse environment with occasional office work.
- May require working outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet production and shipping deadlines.
