What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ranch Hand / Construction Hand position at Confidential?
This job opportunity is for a family ranch and construction company, located in Boyd, TX. We are looking for a construction/ranch hand to assist with light construction projects as well as livestock and farming responsibilities. This person will work 7AM-5PM, M-F with occasional Saturdays. Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work long hours, outdoors.
Job Responsibilities
· feeding and watering livestock
· cleaning out pens and facilities
· Hay operations
· helping to move animals around the farm
· helping with the maintenance of farm structures and equipment
· examining animals
· Work cattle during scheduled vaccinations and assist in herd health evaluations, pasture rotation
· Assist in running large equipment on the farm when required
· Mowing, weed-eating
· Cleaning residential job sites
· Pick up/deliver materials
· Assist residential building superintendents as needed
Welding, fencing
Construction site work
Skills-Required
· Beef Cattle Experience and farming experience necessary
· Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to complete projects with limited or no direct supervision once trained
· Desire to improve processes and efficiency throughout the operation
· Ability to work long hours outdoors 40 hours per week during peak seasons
· Ability to operate tractors, hay equipment, plows, drills, welders etc.
* Experience with and knowledge of operating dozer and skid steer
Job Requirements
· Driver’s license
· Good driving record
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Hook on, back-up and drive a trailer (all lengths, types) is a must
· Able to pass drug screening and background check
Must maintain a professional image and have good communications skills and outstanding work ethic.
Helpful job skills include active listening, ability to work without supervision, good critical thinking skills, knowledge of ranching, good communication skills, and ability to problem-solve. This is not just a “cowboy” position. Candidate must have the above listed skills and knowledge and be willing to work.
Pay commensurate with experience
