This role requires a strong understanding of time management, planning ahead, medical terminology and communication, as well as familiarity with scheduling software. The Scheduler will play a crucial role in maintaining patient care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage employee shift schedules efficiently to optimize workflow.
- Utilize industry software for scheduling and record-keeping.
- Communicate effectively with employees and internal staff regarding their schedules, including confirmations and reminders.
- Communicate care plans to employees effectively.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as required to support agency operations.
Experience
- Previous experience in an office setting, preferably within a home healthcare environment in private care.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using scheduling software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
