What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Confidential?
An established and growing mineral and royalty asset purchaser in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. You’ll have the unique opportunity to build processes, collaborate cross-functionally, and play a key role in the team’s ability to scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee day-to-day full-cycle accounting operations.
- Manage Accounts Payable & Receivable – Process invoices, handle vendor payments, manage collections, and maintain accurate financial records. Ensure we receive timely payments from the Operators we receive revenue from. Communicate with the operators when a property falls off revenue checks or if we stop receiving checks altogether.
- General Ledger & Journal Entries – Prepare and post journal entries, support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Bank & Account Reconciliations – Conduct detailed account/bank reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements and reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other ad hoc financial reporting.
- Paying Property Taxes and getting properties changed into/out of our name as we buy and sell properties.
- Wires/ACH/Checks.
- Commission payments.
- Payment for properties.
- Sending items to be recorded.
- Assist with monthly joint interest billing process.
- Resolve owner inquiries.
- Preparation of various tax reports.
- Prepare and book bank deposits and transfers.
- Participate in special projects, analysis, and reporting as required by management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in a full-cycle accounting role.
- Previous accounting experience in the oil & gas industry, experience with mineral rights and royalty properties. and drilling knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Must have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks, experience with Mineral Soft is a plus.
- Previous knowledge or willingness to learn about Property Taxes.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Organized. Willing to learn/ask questions.
- Strong communication skills.
