Shipping Lead
We are a manufacturing company, with an emphasis on quality, innovation and performance. We are a 75 year old privately held company located in the Hudson Valley, New York, area - about 90 minutes north of New York City.
We are looking for a highly motivated Shipping Lead to join our Operations team. Under the direction of the Shipping Manager, the Shipping Lead will assist in the day to day functions of the department.
Responsibilities:
The Shipping Lead is a working supervisor with All job functions in the Shipping Department and other duties deemed necessary by the Shipping Manager. Responsibilities include:
Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders. Assists in preparation of pallets with items to be shipped. Assists in loading trucks for shipping. Under the direction of the department manager, assists in: Managing all important documents such as advanced shipping notice; pick slips, bills of lading etc. Directs the flow of packages from preparation to shipment. Collaborating with warehouse, purchasing and other managers to optimize processes. Resolve issues regarding shipped orders. Report to management on activities and issues. Perform other duties assigned by Manager.
Work Schedule:
Great Work Schedule Monday – Friday
8:30am - 4:30 pm

Requirements:
High School/GED or equivalency Diploma. College degree a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to operate a Fork Truck
Attention to detail. Accuracy and good communication skills is a must.
The individual will be expected to perform assigned task to the highest stated or implied company standard
Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Previous material handling/shipping experience. Operating warehouse equipment is a plus.
Safety conscious/positive attitude and attention to details.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
Ability to bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and/or stack boxes up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally. Must be able to stand while working
Capability to work in high paced, deadline-oriented environment.
