What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Needs Teacher or Paraprofessional position at Confidential?
You will be working under our main existing teacher. We have trimesters and are working on a flexible school year that could go into the Summer to help the children.

Responsibilities:
- Willingness to drive student to therapy once a day.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism, dyslexia, etc. tailoring instruction to meet their unique learning needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment fostering growth, social development, and independence.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Utilize excellent communication skills to accurately and clearly convey information to students and parents. This includes explaining complex concepts in a way that students with special needs can understand, as well as effectively communicating students' progress to parents.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to support students' progress and address their individual challenges effectively.
- Regularly assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports for parents and school administrators.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning all sensitive information related to students, their families, and their individual educational plans. Only share relevant information with authorized individuals in accordance with the school's privacy policies and applicable laws.
- Stay updated with the latest research, methodologies, and resources related to special education and autism.
- Assisting parents in data tracking for therapists, doctors, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field / associate's for paraprofessional
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Proven experience working with students on the autism spectrum, implementing effective teaching strategies and accommodations.
- Strong understanding of various autism interventions and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn in Spelling to Communicate (S2C) is and knowledge of I-ASC principles highly desired.
- Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree in Special Needs focus
- Familiar with Oklahoma education system
