TECHNICAL TRAINER – Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing
Location: Jacksonville, Florida or Seattle, Washington
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Trainer to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida, or Seattle, Washington. The ideal candidate will bring 20 years of industry experience, including 10 years of hands-on instructional expertise in training electrical, mechanical, and plumbing technicians. This role requires a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about teaching, engaging with students, and developing both existing and new technical training programs. The trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction without the need for travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instruct Technical Classes: Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing fields, ensuring participants gain practical skills and knowledge.
- Develop Training Programs: Design and create new technical training courses based on industry standards, company needs, and technological advancements.
- Lead Hands-On Training: Manage both theoretical and practical aspects of training, facilitating hands-on learning experiences in classroom and lab settings.
- Adapt Instruction Methods: Tailor teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles, ensuring effective knowledge transfer.
- Assess and Evaluate: Monitor and evaluate trainee progress through assessments and practical evaluations to measure competency and skill acquisition.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with technical experts and subject matter specialists to ensure training materials are accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.
- Stay Informed: Maintain current knowledge of the latest techniques, technologies, and regulations in the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing industries.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all training programs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements for certification and licensing.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensing: Must hold an active electrical, mechanical, or plumbing license.
- Experience: At least 20 years of hands-on industry experience in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing fields, with a minimum of 10 years in instructional roles.
- Instructional Skills: Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging training in both classroom and hands-on environments, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Program Development: Proven experience in creating and updating training content, tailoring programs to various skill levels.
- Teaching Commitment: Ability to instruct a minimum of 30 hours per week.
- Passion for Teaching: A genuine enthusiasm and passion for instructing and developing technicians, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
- No Travel Required: This position does not require travel; all teaching will be conducted locally in Jacksonville or Seattle.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Certification or additional qualifications in instructional design, adult learning, or teaching.
- Previous experience in a corporate training environment or with technical schools.
- Familiarity with various teaching tools, including digital platforms, to enhance learning outcomes.
Physical Requirements:
