About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Underwriting with a focus on Physicians Portfolio and Healthcare Affinity Programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and management to ensure underwriting excellence. This includes driving the implementation of strategic and operational objectives, developing and maintaining underwriting guidelines, and ensuring the profitability and growth of the product line. The role also involves evaluating underwriting performance, providing direction for underwriting authority delegation, and collaborating with various business partners to address governance and compliance issues. Candidates for this role at The Company should have a mastery of the underwriting discipline, advanced communication skills, and strong leadership and management abilities. A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required, with a Master's degree preferred, along with a minimum of 12 years' related work experience, including 7 years in a management role. A Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is also preferred. The VP will be expected to have a senior-level knowledge of the insurance industry, its products, and services, and be adept at driving results and resolving significant problems within their area of responsibility. The position demands a professional with a clear vision for their career and the ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the company.
