What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wine Sales Concierge position at Confidential?
We are seeking a Wine Sales Concierge to join our team! The Wine Sales Concierge will work independently to plan and execute sales strategies in order to meet all sales goals as well as support member retention and hospitality sales. The incumbent in this position will identify sales opportunities as well as generate new leads and build strong customer relationships.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Approximately 80%- Direct Phone Sales
- Call customers from databases and provided lists;
- Answer incoming sales calls;
- Sell additional product by recognizing opportunities to up-sell;
- Ensure database is accurately maintained by continuously entering and updating information as indicated;
- Create strategic plans to maximize sales opportunities.
Approximately 5%- Direct Email Sales
- Mine customer data to identify specific opportunities for sales;
- Develop group sales emails promoting products.
Approximately 15%- Hospitality Sales, Wine Club Retention
- Remind members of exclusive offerings and discount benefits such as accommodation and spa treatment discounts with the goal of generating new bookings;
- Work with key teams to establish availability and offers for accommodations;
- Assist with coordination of personalized experiences including tastings and stays with interested members;
- Build relationships with club members, focusing on those vulnerable to club exit;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accommodation offerings, rates, and availability;
- Understand and anticipate guest needs and provide guests with personalized solutions by recommending activities and facilities;
- Design and implement custom and personalized experiences for guests such as hosted lunches, specialty tastings, small events and retreats for guests;
- Learn and understand available accommodation offerings to assist in making suitable recommendations for guests.
Minimum Job requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age;
- Current Responsible Beverage Server certification;
- Must possess a minimum of one year of a proven, successful track record of telephone and email sales results;
- Able to set and achieve goals;
- Self-directed and able to work independently as well as part of a cohesive and driven team;
- Able to meet or exceed monthly sales goals;
- Able to create and execute sales campaigns;
- Exceptional communication skills; both verbal and written;
- Able to provide excellent customer service at all times;
- Able attend off-site events.;
- Able to work occasional weekends and events as needed;
- Highly organized and detail oriented;
- Able to proactively ask for and close the sale;
- Able to travel locally to other company locations and off-site events as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience generating successful sales numbers via telephone and email.
- Wine industry experience and wine knowledge preferred.
Language Skills:
Fluent in English in both oral and written formats. Bi-lingual preferred. Able to communicate in a professional and effective manner at all times.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Able to understand and follow instructions. Able to effectively problem solve and ask questions when clarification is needed.
Computer Skills:
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Database manipulation and CRM software proficiency preferred.

Work Environment:
Most duties will be performed indoors in an office and tasting room setting. Work will also be performed outdoors at times.
