Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting trailers and containers within the yard and ensuring that all equipment is in optimal condition. This role requires a strong understanding of various types of trucks and trailers, as well as the ability to operate them safely and efficiently.
Duties
- Safely maneuver tractor-trailers, flatbeds, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks within the yard.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working order before operation.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and deliveries.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure timely loading and unloading of trailers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating vehicles on-site.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized yard environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid driver's license.
- Strong driving skills with an emphasis on safety and compliance.
- Ability to operate forklifts effectively for loading/unloading tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail for conducting vehicle inspections and maintaining records.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
