I am seeking an Offset Press Operator to join my customer's dynamic team at Mt. Pleasant, IA and Forest, VA facilities. As an Offset Press Operator, you will play a critical role in operating and managing state-of-the-art printing technology to produce high-quality printed materials for our clients. - Set up and maintain printing machines to ensure quality throughout each job run.
- Change press plates, blankets, and cylinders as needed to optimize printing quality.
- Clean ink fountains and press plates, and change units as required.
- Run machines at optimal speed to meet production standards and ensure efficiency.
- Perform regular adjustments to machines to maintain maximum productivity.
- Conduct quality checks on all components to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Recalibrate equipment when necessary to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Set the appropriate color for each job.
- Communicate job status and production concerns/issues during shift transitions to ensure a smooth handoff and continued productivity.
- Notify the Team Lead of any quality issues and work closely with them to resolve concerns.
- Follow and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Accurately track job counts, waste, and make-readies as per job instructions.
- Spot defects in print quality and make necessary corrections to ensure the final product meets specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support the production team.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Prior offset printing experience as a press operator is required.
- Ability to read and interpret job instructions and ensure adherence to them.
- Comfortable working with both mechanical systems and computers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Skilled in monitoring production equipment for speed, quality, and efficiency.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including regularly lifting up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 45 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical operations and processes.
- Basic knowledge of postal guidelines for sorted mail is preferred.
